It is suffice to summarise that Colin, (Figure. 4) is a retired civil engineer who by association with Mike Wadhams, a buildings archaeologist with the Historic Buildings and Conservation Section of Essex County Council, became interested and involved in dowsing the monument. He was actively encouraged by Tim Robey and the author who provided him with base maps and advice. The author also later re-measured Colin's plots with a theodolite so that it could be more accurately placed.
