Archaeological Illustration - Finds, plans, reconstructions
I am a fully qualified and experienced archaeological illustrator. I am one of the few people to have gained the HND in Archaeological Illustration from Swindon College of Art & Design which I did way back in 1989.
I became a Member of the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors and gained seven categories in the illustration of pottery (decorated and undecorated), iron, copper alloy, bone, wood and plans/sections. I was the Council Member for publicity for 2 years and I am pleased to see that the Association still uses the logo I designed for them.
I have regularly published work over the past 20 years in the various journals and newspaper articles produced by the Heritage Environment Branch of Essex County Council as well as producing illustrations for many exhibitions and websites listed in my work record.
I can
produce line drawings, colour paintings, digital design and 3D reconstructions.
The drawings are fully researched.
Below are some very recent commissions.
Section through a Georgian
barn. One of a series of 14 survey drawings.
Han Dynasty wall inscription
describing seasonal laws in China.
Recreation of characters
and activities on a Romano-british slaughterhouse site.
